Scotbeef is one of UK’s leading privately owned red meat processors. Today managed by 4th Generation of the Galloway family, it operates 5 sites throughout the UK supplying meat products to UK’s leading retailers and export market.

Scotbeef prides itself with the relationship that has been built through generations with its farming partners and have operated it’s own Farm assurance and internal identification programme Beeftrack™ Lambtrack™& Tendertrack™ for 27 years. Working together with our farmers enables us to deliver the highest quality of livestock to our abattoirs, strategically located throughout the UK.

Our Agricultural development team is the technical division of our Agricultural Department and supports our Agri- Procurement team, by ensuring that our livestock meet the requirements of our policies and specifications of our retail and export customers.

The role is based on being out on the field travelling to farms, but allocation for office time to organise farm visits and paperwork will be required.

The role will also include a certain number of overnight stays when required if asked to travel further afield.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Visit farms to ensure that farming systems and practices comply with our Animal Welfare and 
  • Environment standards and recorded within our Beeftrack/ Lambtrack systems
  • Maintaining and Developing our in-house BeefTrack® and LambTrack® systems.
  • Ensure our customers specifications and codes of practices are understood, acknowledged and actioned throughout the supply chain from farm to consumer and vice versa.
  • Implement customer and industry initiatives and projects with our farming partners.
  • Host and represent Scotbeef at farming events and Agricultural shows

Knowledge and Experience required:

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledgeable background and experience on the livestock – Beef and Lamb production, and preferably with a formal agricultural qualification.
  • Have confidence in communication with the ability to develop relationships and partnerships
  • Be self-motivating and ability to manage their time to meet deadlines and the position’s requirement.
  • Be IT literate with knowledge on excel
  • Must hold a full UK driving license
