POLICY & PRINCIPLES
Scotbeef Limited, recognise their responsibilities for managing the environmental impacts and aspects from its 6 production sites. These impacts will be addressed by the continuous development of the company’s Environmental Management System which takes account of the expectations placed on the business from their customers and stakeholders.
We are committed to understanding and meeting our full statutory requirements and expectations and are also committed to developing these requirements into our management systems. We will always strive to reduce any pollution to its lowest possible level and ensure emergency procedures are in place to manage any situation.
WASTE AND CONSUMPTION
The company will try to ensure that all waste is minimised and that the consumption of energy and materials can be reduced at source. We will continuously monitor waste levels and endeavour to recycle any waste types wherever possible thus enhancing sustainability and biodiversity. We will look to conserve the environment in all areas of the business.
WORKING ALONGSIDE OUR CUSTOMERS
As a key supplier to some of the largest supermarket chains in the UK, we will work alongside them to ensure that the supply chain is managed on their behalf. We will ensure any best practice in sustainability and environmental management recognised by our industry is adopted and introduced to the company's Environmental Management System.
GOAL SETTING AND PERFORMANCE
We as a company have made pledges to minimise our Carbon Footprint beginning in 2010 which demands that we set out our future goals. We are also setting out an ongoing sustainability plan alongside our key customers which, once more, sets out key targets for the future. We will set out Action Plans to enable us to achieve these goals.
We will ensure that everyone involved with the business has their part to play in helping manage our environmental responsibilities and that they are committed to improving our year on year performance. Capturing and communicating our progress with our employees and customers will demonstrate our intentions to achieving the company's sustainability and biodiversity targets at our sites and within the supply chain.
